Protection Options

As a renter, you have several options to protect yourself in case of accident, loss or damage to the vehicle. They are:-

Relying on: your personal credit card. Some bank credit cards offer primary protection, in which case the card company will pay all damage or loss and not use the renter's insurance policy. Most bank credit cards and charge cards offer secondary insurance protection. Secondary insurance protection provides benefits that cover any damage or loss not covered by the limits of your insurance policy.

The renter must verify the coverage limits with the credit card company. The renter should not assume they are protected without getting the facts. It is necessary to be aware that CDW, also called Collision or Loss Damage Waiver, from the vehicle rental company is not insurance. It is an agreement between the vehicle rental company and the renter that means that the company will not hold the renter responsible for accidental damage or loss and will pay for all costs itself unless the renter violates the terms of the rental agreement.

Liability insurance, not CDW, covers the driver against claims by others for bodily injury and property damage up to a specific limit. Both Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Liability Insurance are included in the rates bookable on this Internet site.
